Unintentional Derogatory Slur

Sometimes, a lack of proper research can lead to misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and communication breakdowns. This was the case for an article I read on this platform to which I’m responding. I was shocked since the author provided no professional credentials to back up their knowledge on the subject — “Intellectual Disability,” for which they used an old, outdated derogatory term — “Mentally R-Word.”
